I completed a degree in Criminology through my deep desire to unpick the human nature and give voice to some of the injustices that exist in this world. This lead me to work with people with addictions and mental ill health who seemed abandoned by society and so often fell into the criminal justice system. It was through this work that I discovered my capacity for holding space for other people. I started deepening my yoga practice to help me through the heaviness of this work and so my curiosity took me deeper and deeper into yoga.

At the core of my practice is a whole hearted, holistic approach as inspired by the lineage passed down through the Devon School of Yoga where I completed my 500 hour teacher training. I take inspiration from Uma-Dinsmore Tuli with her deeply feminine approach, as well as the Kriya Yoga lineage which has blessed my practice with a deep connection to spirit.
My personal practice weaves these elements together with respect for my ever changing body through age and becoming a mother. My inspiration for teaching comes from mother nature herself, the changing of seasons, cycles of the moon, the flow of a river, the death and rebirth of plant life; all offer opportunities to learn something about ourselves and our true nature.
I teach yoga in Exeter and nearby areas and work around life with my two children who are home educated. Since having the children I find that I have become expert at refining the practices that bring me the most peace or rejuvenation in the shortest amount of time! I aim to pass these skills on in my teaching as I we all experience a good deal of pressure in life and need mini practices each day alongside our more spacious ones.

Holistic Yoga
In a holistic yoga practice, your physical, mental & spiritual self-development are nourished through practices of asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), kriya (cleansing practices), do-in (self-massage), dhyana (meditation), shavasana and nidra (deep relaxation). Through the practice of yoga we can begin to connect to the energy (or prana) that moves through everything, eventually aligning ourselves with the natural order of things and finding eternal peace within. I look forward to meeting you soon!
I thoroughly recommend Nikki's yoga classes. She takes a holistic approach, making them a tonic for mind, body and spirit! ~ Lucy, Devon.
